Outside of work, Javier enjoys spending time with his kids, exploring San Diego and cheering on the Raiders.

Ann Robinson
Vibrant Life® Director
Ann Robinson is the Vibrant Life® director for La Marea, and while she has worked with the senior population in different capacities and settings, her favorite role is being an activity director. Prior to joining La Marea, she worked as an assistant activity director at a senior living community for nearly five years. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and finds connections between her education and her work as both involve organizational dynamics and human relations.
This role is Ann’s passion. Her Filipino upbringing places a strong cultural value on love and respect for the elderly. It is Ann’s mission to make each day count for the residents. She loves getting to know them and ensuring every resident remains involved through activities. Seeing the residents happy makes Ann happy.
Ann lives in Carlsbad with her husband and their two children. When not at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Laura Griffith
Director of Sales and Marketing
Laura Griffith’s career in senior living was inspired by finding a new community for her own mother. She can directly relate to the challenges that seniors and their families face during this transition and, as director of Sales and Marketing, aims to make it as smooth and comfortable as possible. Previously, Laura was a design director in the fashion industry, where she built brands and conducted business around the world. She is also a volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association.
In her free time, Laura loves to be in nature and can often be found watercolor painting, hiking, dabbling in botanical drawing or biking, and she recently became scuba-certified.

Reika Villagomez Marron

Reika Villagomez Marron joins the La Marea family with over 14 years of experience in senior living and care. She began her career as a caregiver in Pensacola, Florida, in 2008, and eventually became the lead resident services secretary for the same community. As the new Business Office director, Reika looks forward to spending more time with La Marea’s wonderful staff and deepening both professional and personal connections. She and her office pug, Samson, are grateful for the warm welcome and look forward to life at La Marea!

Jon Samus
Culinary Services Director
Jon Samus comes to La Marea with nearly two decades of experience working in the senior living industry. He first developed a passion for it while working at his family’s business caring for seniors, and it has inspired him to become involved with dining and hospitality.
Jon’s approach to dining is holistic. He believes a dining program should have a varied menu and be nutritious and exciting. Food is an important aspect of our social lives, so meals at La Marea should inspire residents to spend the daily dining time with their friends and family.
Jon earned a B.A. degree in culinary management and a master’s degree in hospitality management from the Art Institute of San Diego. During his free time, he enjoys gardening and spending time with his spouse, two dogs and birds. Jon and his family can often be found traveling around in their RV.
